The Thirst Project: Service Project

About 780 million people on our planet don’t have access to safe, clean water. Even worse, 4,400 kids under the age of five will die today from drinking dirty water. Those are disturbing statistics—and we’re doing something about it. Key Club International is teaming up with The Thirst Project, the world's leading youth water-activism organization. As Key Clubbers, it is our goal to bring awareness to the world water crisis. One way that you can help bring awareness is by carrying around a bottle of dirty water for one month. Yes, it is a little weird, but that is the point. People will ask you why you have a bottle of dirty water and you can explain the Thirst Project and the world water crisis to them. You can implement this activity now, or during the school year with your club.
